We did not spend Memorial Day at the beach (oh the horror!), but at one of NJ’s beautiful State Parks. If you don’t visit the parks – start now 🙂 We planned on visiting Hopatcong State Park, but were turned away due to the park being full. Thanks to our smartphone connectivity and good advice from a park ranger we ended up in Swartswood State Park.
It was our first visit, it was very nice and we will return in the future. We’ve even scoped out the picnic grove we’d like to utilize – a shaded spot near the beach and the play park. I think we will have a BBQ on the outdoor grills provided at each spot. You should too.
No matter where you are, look up your state parks and add them to your Summer Bucket List. Please tell me you have one?! 😉
